Greensboro College Pride Football Tailgate Family

Welcome to the 2016 GC Pride Football Season!! 

 

We are anxious to see our “old” and to meet our “new” GC football families and friends.  We hope that you will join us for the 2016 tailgating activities to support our team!  We tailgate at ALL of the games and will provide information on “Away” tailgating locations and times as needed.

Our mission: 

To create a memorable college football game day experience for each and every player and cheerleader by coming together as one GC Pride Football Family to give them our unconditional support.

Our tailgate activities consist of two major components (for both home and away games):

 

     Part 1:    Pre-game tailgating for family and friends

     Part 2:    Post-game tailgating for the football team and cheerleaders

 

Pre-game tailgating:  We have established a “sign-up” sheet for people to sign up to bring items on “SignUp Genius”. In addition to food, we’ll be looking for volunteers to bring bags of ice, disposable, plates, plastic silverware, napkins, cups etc. to be used for both pre-game and post-game tailgating. At all home games, we set up right outside the gate at the bottom of the parking lot where the players enter and exit the stadium. For away games, we will send out E-mails and let everyone know when and where we will meet for the tailgating.

 

Post-game tailgating:  Post-game tailgating is first and foremost for the players, cheerleaders, trainers, and staff. The sign-up sheet for the Post-game tailgate is also on “SignUp Genius”. Immediately following the game, we need volunteers to come back to the tailgate area to get everything set up for to serve our Pride! Once the football team, cheerleaders, trainers, and staff have made it through the food and drink lines, family and friends are welcome to join the team and help themselves.

 

At all home games, we set up our tailgating at the end of the stadium where the team enters the field. When the team arrives at the field, they congregate at the top of the hill and walk down as a team to enter the stadium. For the 1:00 games, we would like to encourage everyone to arrive at the tailgate area by approximately 10:30 to cheer our players on as they walk by.  We tailgate until 12:30 and then head on into the stadium to enjoy the game. For the later games, we will adjust our times accordingly. Immediately after the game, we need plenty of help to get everything set up for the Post-Game tailgate, so please come directly to the Post-Game tailgate area to help get ready for the players.

 

 

We will again use the SignupGenius to coordinate our tailgating needs.

The way that it works is that there is a list of items that are needed for both the Pre-Game and Post-Game tailgating efforts. Choose the items you would like to bring and enter it online. Please note that drinks are not included on the sign-up for the Pre-Game but we do provide drinks for our team and cheerleaders at the Post-Game tailgate. If you do not wish to participate in the Pre-Game tailgate, please consider helping with the Post-Game for our Pride. The coaches have told us that the players and cheerleaders really enjoy the food and the time they get to spend with friends and family following the games.  

 

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!

In order to put on the post-game tailgates for the football team and cheerleaders for 10 regular season games, we need your help. Our experience tells us that it costs, approximately $75 per player/cheerleader for the season. To make this endeavor affordable for everyone, we are reaching out to the entire GC Pride Football Family for donations (food, drinks and monetary) to make this happen for our team and cheerleaders.  Whether or not you can make it to our tailgates, your support, monetarily or otherwise, is greatly appreciated. Together we can do it!
